May 2002 Packet

Greetings to the Atlantian Ministers of the Lists from Mistress Theodora Delamore,

As most of you know, my term as Kingdom Minister of the Lists ended at the Coronation of Their Majesties, Cuan and Padraigin.

I just want to say thank you to each and every MoL. Thanks for your time and your dedication. Long hours spent in training classes and serving on the field are much appreciated by both the Crown and the army. Our fighters constantly compliment me on how skillfully and smoothly Atlantian lists run.

Thank you all. Your efforts help the Kingdom prosper, and it has been my honor to serve as your Kingdom Officer. I leave the Kingdom List Office in the capable hands of Lady Emma of Elandonan, whose careful attention and fresh energy will make it flourish anew.

Ever in service to Atlantia

Theodora

Greetings to the Atlantian Ministers of the Lists from Lady Emma of Elandonan,

I am very excited about serving as the Kingdom Minister of the List and look forward to working with each of you to ensure that our tourneys run smoothly and our fighters get their cards in a timely manner.

As you know from my Acorn letter I am actively seeking Deputies for the MD/DC area and for North Carolina. Please feel free to contact me if you are interested in either of these positions.

In Service to Crown and Kingdom

Emma

Electronic Distribution

If you are receiving this letter (instead of a full packet) you are on the list for electronic distribution. In this case, I am sending you a single letter and asking you to download all the enclosures that would normally receive in hardcopy.

This quarter's packet is available at http://mol.atlantia.sca.org/ePacket.html. Links to all the downloads are available at this address. This quarter, the hardcopy packet contains:

Thrown Weapons.

After much discussion, the Earl Marshal office has ruled that Thrown Weapon is a target activity rather than a combat activity. This means, just like target archery, people may participate without authorizing. So, all the "TW" (Thrown Weapons) abbreviations on the MoL forms will never be used.

I apologize for the confusion on this topic. When the weapons form was first introduced, the marshallate thought authorizations would eventually be necessary. But since it is not necessary, we have all happily agreed to spare everyone the extra paperwork.

Youth Combat.

We had hoped to have the Youth Combat program starting this fall. However, the rules are not quite ready. It is always best to proceed cautiously and succeed, especially in matters concerning our children's safety. Even though we're not quite there yet, much credit is due to our Deputy Earl Marshal for Youth, Lady Gisele l'Orpheline, for getting us this far. If you have questions about participating she is your first point of contact.

In preparation for Youth Combat, the KMoL office has recruited a Deputy KMoL for Youth. I want to welcome Lady Maria Mousetower who has agreed to fill this new position. She has done a splendid job of drafting forms and procedures so weíll be ready when the Youth rules are finalized.

Fighters currently on probation.

There is one fighter currently on probation.

These individuals are specifically cautioned concerning deviations from the rules of the lists. Should you encounter any problems with these individuals, notify the marshal to pull their authorization card and contact the Deputy KMoL for your area as soon as possible. They will be able to advise you on how to document the incident and what to do next.

Done this 12th day of September, A.S. XXXVII, being the year 2002 in the Common Era.
